Roeland Merks at Leiden University is recruiting a postdoc in Computational Science or Theoretical/Mathematical Biology to model melanoma cell migration in complex extracellular matrices, as part of the EU-funded PhotoMel consortium.  PhotoMel will investigate how UV- and chemical-induced ECM changes affect melanoma progression in young adults. For more information or to apply, Your task will be to develop a three-dimensional (3D) computational model of melanoma cell migration in complex 3D ECMs, based upon our recently published hybrid Molecular Dynamics - Cellular Potts framework.  You work closely with experimental members of the consortium and with a PhD student in mathematical biology for which a vacancy has been published recently .
