Dear Colleagues,
I hope you are doing well, and enjoying a nice and productive summer.
We are delighted to invite you to participate in the Tenth International Conference on Mathematical Modeling and Analysis of Populations in Biological Systems (ICMA X), to be held at the University of Maryland, College Park, USA, on October 24–25, 2026 (https://icma2026.umd.edu/; meeting flyer attached).
ICMA X will provide a forum for researchers in the mathematical, biological, ecological, biomedical, computational, and public-health sciences to present recent advances in the modeling, analysis, simulation, and application of mathematical models to biological populations. The conference will emphasize rigorous theory, computation, data analytics, and applications to important problems in global health, ecology, sustainability, climate, animal movement, human behavior, medicine, and emerging AI-enabled approaches to biological modeling.
The main themes of ICMA X include mathematical epidemiology, global health, and One Health; ecological resilience, persistence, and sustainability; mathematical oncology, immunology, and multiscale medicine; movement ecology, spatial dynamics, and biological invasions; nonlinear population dynamics, evolution, and complex systems; and AI, data science, and digital twins for biological systems.
We are delighted to announce the following plenary speakers for ICMA X:
- Stanca M. Ciupe, Professor, Department of Mathematics, Virginia Tech
- Alan Hastings, Distinguished Professor Emeritus, Department of Environmental Science and Policy, University of California, Davis
- Natalia L. Komarova, Professor and Dean’s Scholar, Department of Mathematics, University of California, San Diego
- Chadi M. Saad-Roy, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics and Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of British Columbia, Canada
Registration for the conference is free of charge. We kindly ask all participants to register in advance to help us plan effectively. We encourage participants to submit abstracts for consideration for oral presentation (a 30-minute invited talk) or poster presentation. Information on registration, abstract submission, presentation formats, deadlines, and local arrangements is available at the conference website:

For questions, please contact the organizing committee at icma2026@umd.edu.
I would be grateful if you could circulate this announcement widely among colleagues, students, postdoctoral researchers, and others who may be interested.
The Local Organizing Committee and I look forward to welcoming many of you to the University of Maryland for what promises to be a stimulating and enjoyable scientific meeting.
With best regards,
