We’re pleased to announce an ARVO Special Interest Group (SIG) on Mathematical and Computational Ophthalmology, to be held via Zoom on Tuesday 23rd June from 1:00pm-2:30pm BST (= 8:00am-9:30am EDT).

The aim of the SIG is to bring together clinicians, experimentalists and quantitative scientists, to discuss the current state of the field, and the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

This SIG will consist of 3 brief talks, followed by a time of structured discussion led by Dr. Paul Roberts.

    The talks are as follows:

Dr. Jennifer Tweedy – Challenges and opportunities in mathematical modelling in ophthalmology

Considering the foundations and lifecycle of medical artificial intelligence (Parts 1 & 2):

Dr. Ariel Ong – Part 1: the problem of clinical text and data standards

Dr. Robbert Struyven – Part 2: imaging data drifts and the missing science of retraining
