Virginia Tech and Clemson University are hosting the fifth annual Mathematics- Opportunities in Research and Education (MORE) workshop October 21-22, 2023 on the campus of Clemson University in Clemson, SC.  We are asking you to share this announcement with your students and encourage all mathematics (and similar) majors to apply.

MORE will bring together undergraduate students interested in mathematical sciences to learn about opportunities as they continue to pursue their mathematics education and career.  In addition to learning about opportunities to progress in the field of mathematics, students will participate in hands-on activities and engage collaboratively in working on hot topics in mathematics. The workshop will feature invited speakers, activities, and panels on topics important to undergraduates.  Throughout the workshop, students will have the opportunity to engage with faculty, graduate students, and postdocs, among others with careers in mathematics.  Our hope is to demystify the graduate school experience in mathematical sciences to broaden the prospects of students as they near the end of their undergraduate careers.

Funding is available for lodging and other travel costs (such as mileage to and from Clemson from a reasonable distance). All meals will be provided. First generation college students and students from underrepresented groups in the mathematical sciences are especially encouraged to apply. The deadline for Applications is Thursday, September 28 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Additional information and application information may be found at the conference website: https://intranet.math.vt.edu/MORE/MORE2023/index.html. For any questions, please contact MORE.math.opportunities@gmail.com.
