    Dear Professor,

This is to inform you that I want to apply for the post-doctoral position in electrophysiology modelling at University of Nottingham. I obtained the degree of Ph.D in Applied Mathematics from the Department of Mathematics, IIT Guwahati, India, under the supervision of Prof. D. C. Dalal. The title of my thesis is ''Mathematical Modelling of Drug Delivery in Tissue Cells by Electroporation''. I am working in the areas of Mathematical modelling, Drug delivery, Electroporation, Membrane dynamics and Computational fluid dynamics. In this area of research, I deal with mathematical models and solve them with numerical simulation using different numerical schemes based on the finite difference method/finite volume method. I use C-programming, Matlab, and Tecplot to solve the model and plot results. I am highly interested in your area of research and I would like to work with you as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Research Associate. I will be very fortunate if you give me a chance to work under your supervision and to work with your group. I have the necessary skills and qualifications for this post. For details of my knowledge and experience, I am attaching my CV for your reference.  I would appreciate your consideration to call me for an interview.

We have up to two positions available at the Centre for Mathematical Medicine and Biology, in Gary Mirams' team that is developing cardiac electrophysiology models for use in drug safety assessment. You'll be joining a big team with a focus on the practicalities of model building/model selection/experimental design/making predictions with appropriate uncertainty quantification and working with experimental labs in academia and industry to test these predictions with new experiments.

Experience of numerical simulation of some kind of biological system is required but prior experience with electrophysiology modelling in particular is not. Alternatively, a computational statistics background in optimisation/inference would be fine too.

These are one year fixed term postdoc/senior postdoc (same pay grade as Assistant Professor) positions. Deadline for applications is 15th Jan.

For more details please see https://mirams.wordpress.com/2023/12/13/2024-2025-postdoc-jobs/
